Engineering Technician (ET) IV:  The ET IV performs assignments that are not completely standardized. ET IV receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor and will perform recurring work independently.  ET IV performs a combination of duties listed below without direct supervision. ET IV shall assist as job or project lead and ensure that lower level technicians are performing work in compliance with original request.
 
ET IV PRIMARY field of expertise is Plumber.  SECONDARY field of expertise is Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC). Ten years minimum experience required. High School graduate or equivalent required. Computer Skills: Working knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint software required.
 
ET IV PRIMARY, SECONDARY, AND OVERALL duties are as follows:
 
  • Performs Plumber duties which require a working knowledge of water and drain systems and their components. Typical work includes installing in-line gages, regulators, valves, drainage lines, repairing, installing or replacing bathroom toilets and sinks, disassembly of plumbing to ensure no obstructions to fluid remains.
  • Additional Plumber duties include installing, checkout, problem-solving, and removal of process piping, air lines, vacuum lines, nitrogen lines, including air regulators and filters. Universal Plumber card holder is preferred.
  • In depth Plumber knowledge and experience to include installing and maintaining and troubleshooting compressors and vacuum pumps. General pressure range is up to 3,000 PSI.
  • Performs scheduled, preventive and routine maintenance on HVAC equipment according to regulations set in manufactures manual. Example of this type of work would be adjusting belts, changing worn-out components, oil, filter(s), and gaskets. Performs cleaning as needed to ensure professional appearance and longevity of the system(s) and its components.
  • Troubleshooting and correcting HVAC malfunctions on real property and equipment.
  • Performs electrician duties which require a working knowledge of single and three -phase electric. Voltages consist of 120v, 208v, 240v, 277v, 480v.  An example of typical work would be configuring or installing of switches, outlets, lights and responding to evaluate and repair electrical problems.
  • Installs or repairs a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, transmission equipment. Electrical wiring and motor controls experience preferred.
  • Performs rough carpentry duties which require a working knowledge of framing, load support, metal and wood wall construction, the use of various hand or power tools and equipment.  Tasking include: construction or demolition of wooden or metal framed drywalls, installation of baseboard and various types of finished molding, construction of walls and installation of doors, windows, suspended ceiling grids etc.
  • Performs repairs to drywall and tile. Duties require a working knowledge of finishing processes.
  • Assists with basic masonry tasks to include the construction or demolition of concrete or brick walls, repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
  • General housekeeping and cleaning.
  • Operates various types of vehicles and equipment to include pick-up trucks, forklifts and single person man lifts. Performs preoperational inspections of equipment and vehicles before use.
  • The contractor shall perform all activities to prepare an equipment item for turn-in, generating required documentation, purging fluids, removing any hazardous materials, and palletizing.
