This position will lead the SelectTech GeoSpatial’s Advanced Manufacturing Facility (SGAMF) New Product Development (NPD), Engineering and Design group. This function will also be a member of the SGAMF leadership team. This position will be responsible for the efficient development and delivery of clear, complete and accurate technical data packages that will be used to produce a safe and reliable product that meets or exceeds our customer’s demands.Our operational priorities are safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education level: Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or Engineering Management
10 years of experience leading technical teams
Solid experience/judgement in technical personnel management and decision-making
Strong writing, communications, and organizational skills
Experience with Systems Engineering practices and principles
Familiar with engineering tools including CAD, CAE, CAM, and Project Management
Understands, develops, and executes the department budget
Proficient with the Solid Works® design suite
Experience following, developing, and implementing standard engineering practices and processes
Familiarity with DoD Systems and tech data desired
Security clearance helpful, not required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
This position will be a “hands on” function with project responsibilities
Will provide daily leadership of the engineering team to ensure the provision of required level of services in a pro-active and professional manner
Coordinate with other departments and assist them in fulfilling their assigned obligations
Provide clear leadership and vision, inspire, and motivate staff to achieve excellence and mentor them as they develop new skills
Will drive key performance indicators across all areas of the engineering and NPD functions to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest quality standards
Works directly with business development, project managers and manufacturing operations to assure smooth project/product evolution
Develops planning and prioritize processes to ensure that the multi-disciplinary resources are well aligned to maximize delivery of projects
Manages engineering’s project backlog and balance workloads and resources for maximum efficiency
Works closely with leadership to set long-range goals and expansion plans
Ensures all quality procedures, work instructions and drawings are followed as defined
Represents our technical function with our suppliers and customers
