Job Description
Technician shall be responsible for development of new process technologies, maintenance and repair of systems, and the training/advising of scientists and engineers regarding appropriate equipment, materials, processes, and procedures.  Responsibilities include set-up, operation, maintenance, and calibration of the following, or equivalent, equipment: Oxford Cobra ICP System, Plasma-Therm Reactive Ion Etch 790 System, Plasma Therm Versaline DRIE system, SPTS Rapier DRIE system, Plasma Therm PECVD 790 system, SPTS XFe system, Karl Suss MA6 and MA6B Contact Mask Aligners and various other lithography equipment. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:  fabrication, testing and maintenance of various scientific and manufacturing equipment and processes including lithographic processing, plasma processing, vacuum systems, DC and RF or high-speed electrical systems. Complexity of task typically requires considerable creativity and judgment to devise approaches to accomplish work, resolve design and operational problems, and make decisions in situations where standard engineering methods, procedures, and techniques may not be applicable. This task also requires the physical ability to lift heavy equipment and climb ladders. Limited travel may be required to support the facility and ongoing research projects.
