Job Description
Overview:
The Engineering Technician III - Real Property Building Manager (RPBM)’s are assigned to various buildings within the RQ campus; each building having its own unique mission(s), requirements and workload. RPBMs serve as customer service representatives for their assigned buildings. The RPBM designs and promotes positive working relationships with customer agencies and client personnel, while maintaining continuous liaison with building tenants, top management officials of customer agencies and tenants at assigned facilities. RPBMs shall communicate effectively both written and verbally to various agencies and management levels as applicable. The RPBM shall be responsible for the physical and functional infrastructure of assigned buildings. RPBMs are vital in determining the best suitable path for maintenance and repairs to real property, utilities and grounds. They must ensure that customer agencies have the most suitable working environment for its employees and their activities and provide the least disturbance to the core competencies. On a regular basis, RPBMs use various computer software programs and data basis to communicate, report, input and track items related to their duties and facility. On occasion they operate government vehicles and equipment.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Care, custody and protection of real property.
  • Inspecting, policing and reporting the status of the assigned building and area within 50 feet of the building.
  • Replacing light bulbs and determine if the fixture needs repair.
  • Cleaning and restocking restrooms as needed.
  • Issuing keys and door access and checking nightly that all doors are secure.
  • Writing FIST orders and following up with completion of tasks.
  • Writing Tririga request to Civil Engineering and following up for completion of the task.
  • Calling in removal of recyclable and refuse items.
  • Trouble shooting telephone issues.
  • Maintaining the monthly check of fire extinguishers.
Requested Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with computer technology. Use current software to enter work orders.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers, contractors and government workforce.
  • A team-player working to support the mission of the RQ directorate.
  • Assess and problem solve various tasks.
  • Inspect and report any real property deficiencies on a monthly basis.
  • Climb ladders, use forklifts, change light bulbs and perform other general maintenance tasks.
