Job Description
The Proposal Writer/Manager creates, modifies, and writes business development proposals for the SelectTech Services business development team. This position is located at our corporate office in Centerville, Ohio.

Primary Responsibilities Include Assisting In:
1. Reviewing RFPs to help develop proposal plan and kickoff materials
2. Developing proposal outline, compliance matrix, and proposal schedule
3. Gathering information by interviewing Subject Matter Experts and helping to write various proposal sections, including executive summaries, past performance/qualification summaries and resumes
4. Reviewing/rewriting proposal inputs and help to coordinate with management and technical personnel to ensure accuracy
5. Editing proposals and related documents for completeness and compliance with editorial standards and proposal formatting/composition
6. Coordinating proposal reviews, ensuring compliance with solicitation requirements
7. Creating and maintaining a proposal library/database – both hard copy and electronic
8. Maintaining inventory of all opportunities - past, present and future
9. Maintaining contract matrix and helping to keep past performance information up to date
10. Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and maintaining personal networks
11. Maintaining quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases
12. Gathering proposal information by identifying sources of information; coordinating submissions and collections; identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals

Additional Responsibilities
1. May assist in preparing statistical summaries and reports
2. May assist Business Development Team with other forms of communication/solicitation
3. May perform other duties as directed by the Proposal Manager or Vice President of Operations
4.  May assist Program and Corporate teams on development of needed graphics and professional content in support of customers and business development activities

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 5+ years of related experience as a Proposal Writer
  • Must have federal government proposal experience and be familiar with government contracting
  • Strong skills in interpersonal communication, writing, and organization
  • Excellent writing skills, strong ability to summarize data concisely
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and high motivation
  • Good reasoning abilities
  • Sound judgment
  • Resourcefulness
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office
