Heat Treat Engineer - NSK Corporation

The Heat Treat Engineer Role

The Heat Treat Engineer specializes in the thermal processing of materials to improve their mechanical properties and durability. They design and oversee heat treatment processes, ensuring precise temperature and time parameters to achieve desired material characteristics for various industrial applications.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the production plan on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis in order to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate meetings with the team.
  • Ensure that preventive and corrective maintenance is carried out on the furnaces.
  • Provide training to operators and supervisors.
  • Ensure safe operation in the HT process.
  • Manage and control processes in the HT area.
  • Creation of Work Instructions for the HT area.
  • Administration and control of HT tooling.
  • Train staff on the instructions to follow for the HT area.
  • Improve the objectives of Scrap and make corresponding analyses if necessary.
  • Control HT process parameters.
  • Ensure compliance with the requirements, documentation, and implementation of those requests in the CQI-9 audit.
  • Lead the audits of CQI-9, as well as follow up on nonconformities and observations as required.
  • Control of area plans.
  • Make purchase order of what is required in the area.
  • Manage and monitor CAPEX budget for HT.
  • Control HT's budget.
  • Support of installation of new furnaces from planning to execution.
  • Work within the organization so that the objectives and needs of the plant's production are met.
  • Work together with support and production members to achieve safety, quality, and productivity objectives.
  • Prepare reports necessary to carry out the assigned work/projects.
  • Develop and implement the machine and process improvement.
  • Develop problem-solving skills by collaborating with operational and support staff.
  • Improve the process using continuous improvement tools, design tools, or statistical control tools.
  • Periodic review of documentation such as Work Instructions, FMEA, Control Plan.
  • Implementation of the quality, environmental, and health and safety policy at work.
  • Participate in the creation of security ideas.

Education & Qualifications

  • This job requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
