We are currently hiring a Production Supervisor for our Consolidation Department at our manufacturing plant in Millersburg, Oregon. This is a 4x4 rotational shift and will require some nights and weekend work. The Supervisor is a facilitator and a master problem solver and can trouble shoot systems and equipment. You will lead processes and strategies to ensure that we are achieving conformance and producing quality product that meets our customer requirements and ATI goals and objectives.

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of 7-10 direct reports with diverse personalities and is responsible for the health and safety of the individuals on the floor, applying a continuous improvement focus, training, coaching, motivating, and leading the employees.

In order to become successful and provide immediate impact, you will have to quickly learn ATI, the Consolidations Department, processes, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including a unionized workforce, engineering, quality, and safety. Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, a continuous improvement mindset, the ability to act quickly and make impactful decisions, and exceptional interpersonal skills are included in the skillset of a successful Production Supervisor.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan and direct department activities to obtain safe and efficient operations.
  • Resolve production, equipment and systems problems; assist in the revision of work instructions; and assist and ensure that adequate training of personnel is conducted and maintained.
  • Apply Leadership skills to lead, motivate and train personnel.
  • Interpret and enforce policies while maintaining the provisions of the labor agreement.
  • Monitor and coordinate training to ensure tasks are completed as required by standard work and work instructions.
  • Evaluate performance, recommend appropriate disciplinary action as needed, and interpret and enforce ATI policies while maintaining the provisions of the bargaining unit contract.
  • Eliminate wastes through standardization, best practices, line stops, and verbatim compliance.
  • Ensure strict adherence to both internal and customer requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or in a heavy industrial environment.

Preferred

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business or related field is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience in a union environment is highly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Proficiency of Microsoft Office Software Suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing practices and continuous improvement concepts.
  • PSM systems knowledge as well as management of change experience.
