Overview

The Military Network Engineer will support Air Force Life Cycle Management Center customer at WPAFB, OH. The customer Program Office provides planning and acquisition of cost-effective, long-term critical U.S. Air Force capabilities in an Integrated Product Team structure. The candidate will work side by side with customers and other contractors in the Program Office. Working with the customer, the Military Network Engineer will also interface with major defense contractors who supply critical defense capabilities. The majority of the work will be performed in the customer workspace. Some travel is expected (up to 20%).

Responsibilities

Duties to be independently executed include but are not limited to:

* Be familiar with the DoD acquisitions process.
* Support requirements development, allocation, and verification.
* Support review and evaluation of weapon system design, analyses, and verification documentation and reports.
* Support requirements development, allocation, and verification.
* Gather and develop technical and business data necessary to build and, as required, present program briefs.
* Support program meetings, working groups, and technical and business reviews as needed.
* Analyze equipment and software performance deficiencies and make recommendations for corrective actions.
* Support development of contract and documentation changes and updates.
* Support source selections in a technical advisory role as requested.
* Familiarization with different tactical Datalinks and aircraft communication systems
* Primary duties are to serve as Network Engineer guiding the implementation of robust communication network architectures using commercial and military RF systems.
* Provide subject matter expertise support to technical reviews and serve on high level reviews and provide critical support to Capability Release Team.
* Support program office in evaluating development, integration, modernization, and sustainment initiatives across the portfolio.
* Evaluates contractor and other government entity technical proposals, develops, and analyzes technical, engineering and test/verification plans, and represents their organization across government and industry communities.
* Provide technical support in one or more of a wide range of RF technologies to include terrestrial and space-based RF communications, government, and commercial satellite systems, commercial cellular and wireless, and understanding of 5G technologies and embedded software/firmware development.
* Experience with operational environments and using high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and implementation methodologies on complex problems.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
* Minimum of 10 years of relevant DoD experience.
* Technical Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field (cybersecurity, computer science, computer engineering) Desired
* Two (2) of these years must be in a special access DoD acquisition program as a sub-system engineer within a recognized ACAT I program office and must have accrued within the four years prior to selection for employment under this contract.
* Five (5) years of relevant DoD communications systems experience.

Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience in:
* Cyber Systems development and sustainment
* Network protection, attack, exploitation
* Integration and test for DoD and USAF systems
* DoD, USAF, and interagency information assurance requirements
* DoD, USAF, and interagency security accreditation procedures
* Current applicable SAP and SCI information assurance requirements (JSIG, RMF, JAFAN, etc)
* DoD and /or USAF Special Access Programs

* Numerous methods of communication/data transmission
* Candidates must possess and demonstrate proven communication skills- written and verbal.
* Software and computer system architectures.
* Software and systems integration processes.
* DoD/IC or relevant industry work experience with no less than two (2) years' experience in a SAP and/or SCI environment, with at least one (1) year of that total being within the past 5 years
* Computer system hardware and software criticality identification.
* Functional compatibility of all software and hardware.

Security Clearance Level Required: Top Secret, SCI Eligible
