Job Description

Scope of Position

Team members are licensed or certified professional occupational therapists who work within the oncology team structure to offer outpatient rehabilitation services. These services are offered at outpatient service sites to patients who have oncology related rehabilitation needs. Services would be provided at multiple sites (including Dublin) that would require travel during the work day. The rehabilitation team members report to the Rehab Services Manager as part of the overall James Ambulatory Services structure.

Position Summary

Each occupational therapy team member is first a part of a group effort to provide care within a continuous performance improvement environment, and secondly a distinct professional who provides specific contributions to the team

approach. Team members assess patients and establish together plans of care; provide a wide variety of treatment techniques; provide education and support to families; and facilitate continuing care planning. Team members evaluate quality of services and participate in outcomes management activities. A team member embraces the Intensive Caring values of the organization and uses them to guide interactions with others.

Duties and Responsibilities: The Performance Excellence Criteria and Job Description Categories of Workplace of Choice, Quality, Productivity and Efficiency, Financial performance, Service and Reputation and Innovation and Strategic Growth should be interwoven throughout the employees position description.

Minimum Qualifications

All occupational therapy team members must be licensed and/or certified with the respective

profession and meet the educational and/or certification requirements established by their professions.

All academic degrees must have been granted from an accredited institution. All licensed professionals must be cleared through the National Database of Practitioners. Typically, one-two years experience working in a medical setting is preferred for all professionals hired. Must attain OSU Credentialing prior to hire (applies to new hires only as of August 2010). Occupational therapists credentialed prior to August 2010 must maintain a credentialed status. Each therapist must attain and maintain certification as a Certified Hand Therapist through the Hand Therapy Certification Commission. Occupational Therapists credentialed prior to August 2010 must attain and maintain certification within 24 months. Occupational Therapists credentialed after August 2010 must attain and maintain certification no later than 24 months after eligibility ismet.

Maintains professional licensure; demonstrates commitment to continuing education; meets

mandatory education and health requirements; demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and

cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions.
