Network Operations Engineer

Key Role:

Monitors network administration and maintenance operations, manages the design evolution of existing operational networks, and resolves network incidents to ensure the smooth running of the network operation. Applies advanced consulting skills or extensive technical expertise, full industry knowledge. Develops innovative solutions to complex problems. Works without considerable direction, mentors and may supervise team members. Performs technical analysis of elementary software, hardware, and transmission facility using various diagnostic tools in support of efficient network operations. Performs on-site engineering, as required. Analyzes local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, and evaluation. Evaluates problems of workflows and network usage analytically and systematically. Oversees appropriate corrective actions. Provides project management and technical documentation, as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with Internet Protocol (IP) networking, including routing and switching

  • Experience with firewall vendors

  • Experience with network administration

  • Experience with IT network design and deployment

  • Experience with enterprise networks

  • Experience in an operational environment

  • Experience with Juniper routers, Cisco routers, and Palo Alto firewalls

  • Secret clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with DoD networks preferred

  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or a related field preferred; Master's degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or a related field a plus

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Certification

  • Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS) or Juniper Networks Certified Internet (JNCIE) Certification

  • Palo Alto ACE Certification

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA) Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
